The Whiskey Shack log cabin sleeps up to 6 and has log beds. In the summer there�s great fishing on many local lakes, deer, and grouse hunting in the fall. Shops for the ladies, hiking trails for the family and much more.
We have corrals for your horses also! Coming Soon - A private outside kennel for your hunting dogs, complete with log roof and accents. Or if your pet is a lap dog it is welcome in the house! You have 300 acres of prime hunting land to hunt either deer, bear and ruffled grouse on. You will experience the hunt of a life time in an area that boast large trophy whitetail deer and black bear. We provide the stands, and baiting for bear. Call to reserve your hunt today!
The rustle of the trees in the wind, the snort of that big buck and your heart feels like its going to come out of your chest... Although patience is the name of the game when you want that big one, when you hunt with The Whiskey Shack, we place you in an active area, with a stand that will not only be comfortable, but give you the opportunity to achieve your goal of getting that big buck...the rest is up to you. We offer hunting on over 300 acres of private land for $500.00 (not including lodging or license fees). Limited spots are available so it is best to reserve your trip early. We are very pleased with our strong success rate, but remember: The Minnesota white tail deer can be very secretive and shy when it comes to hunting them, but when they come out, oh the excitement! The beauty of northern Minnesota, along with your hosts, Rick and Sheila Reinarz, will give you a hunting experience to remember. Bear hunting in Minnesota is on a lottery system. Applications are available in late March and the deadline to submit your application is May 7 this year. Lottery results are available in late May. You may purchase your license after August 1st. Come to beautiful northern Minnesota to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and see a variety of wildlife while you wait for the elusive black bear... and when he comes in you'll feel the excitement of the hunt! There are ample places to hunt with the many miles of logging trails. We guide for black bear the first 3 weeks of September so we spend a lot of time in the woods. We take extensive notes on where there is grouse and grouse habitat. Then, we sit down with our guests and show them on topo and forestry maps where those areas are. We pride ourselves on the excellent service we provide to our hunters. Bear hunting is offered September 1 through late September. We provide the following services to our bear hunters:
There is no fee to apply for the bear license drawing in May. Bear licenses are $196. Please call for specifics on applying for a bear license. A deposit is required to confirm your reservation. Grouse The grouse count has been on the increase the last few years - with last year turning out to be a good year. Hunting Season usually starts the 3rd week of September. The last week of September through later October is typically our best hunting time for grouse.

Winter is a wonderful experience with miles of trails to snowmobile on. You�ll never run out of fun things to do. 
The log cabin comes with all the amenities of home with a full kitchen, TV, VCR, dish satellite, pizza oven, microwave, gas fireplace, linens and towels are provided. Gas grill on the large deck and fire pit over looking the wildlife pond. We offer both electric and gas lights, both an indoor bathroom w/ shower and an outhouse with a skylight for the true outdoorsmen experience. And of course, The Whiskey Shack also offers a full wet bar right at the cabin, just bring your groceries!
